Presentation of the Decarbonisation Report to the African Union High Level Panel on Emerging Technologies (APET) Meeting
NASAC and InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) presented the key emerging technologies required to transition to sustainable transport as highlighted in the “Decarbonisation of Transport in Africa: Opportunities, Challenges and Policy Options” report to the African Union High Level Panel on Emerging Technologies (APET) Meeting on 29th May 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. NASAC was represented by Dr. Evans Avedi and Mr. Omondi Jack while IAP was represented by Mr. Moses Ogutu.
In presenting the findings and key recommendations to the APET, NASAC and IAP sought to rally support for an ambitious yet achievable vision where Africa leads the charge in embracing sustainable transport solutions powered by emerging technologies such as electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, smart cities and intelligent transport and mass rapid transport, which are key to the entire ecosystem of sustainable transport.
