Dr. Jackie Kado leads the secretariat of the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC), based in Nairobi, Kenya. NASAC is a consortium of 32 science academies working collectively to advance scientific excellence, inform policy, and promote sustainable development across Africa. Through her leadership, Dr. Kado plays a pivotal role in enhancing the science-policy interface and nurturing strategic partnerships that elevate the role of science in Africa’s policymaking landscape.

With nearly 25 years of experience in managing regional and continental initiatives, she has consistently championed the integration of science into development processes. She is a firm advocate of evidence-informed and African-led solutions that are grounded in local contexts and geared towards sustainable impact.

Dr. Kado holds a Doctorate in Human Development from Atlantic International University (USA), a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Mathematics and Commerce) from the University of Nairobi. She also serves on several international boards and expert committees, where she contributes thought leadership on science, innovation, equity, and global development.
