Sustainability Research + Innovation Congress 2024 (SRI2024)

The Network of African Science Academies (NASAC) and InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is hosting a roundtable discussion at the Sustainability Research + Innovation Congress 2024 (SRI2024) Africa satellite event in Durban, South Africa. The discussion is centred around the Decarbonisation of Road Transport in Africa: Science, Technology, Innovations and Policy with key focus in understanding the opportunities, challenges, and policy options in decarbonising road transport in the continent. The aim of the roundtable discussion is to disseminate the key findings and recommendations of the Decarbonisation of Transport in Africa: Opportunities, Challenges and Policy Options report authored by NASAC and IAP. The roundtable brings together key experts from academia, industry, and government to highlight, through relevant cases, the crucial roles that science, technology, innovation, and policy can play in enabling a green transition in the transport sector in Africa.
