NASAC represented at the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) Conference of Associate Members (CAM)
The Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) held the 2nd ordinary session of the Conference of Associate Members (CAM) from 27 – 28 June 2024 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the OSC Headquarters. The Network of African Science Academies (NASAC) represented by its President Prof. Mahouton Norbert Hounkonnou and Dr. Evans Avedi Partnership and Outreach Manager participated in the conference that brought together nine (9) Associate Members. The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of OSC key activities and milestones over the past year, highlighting the significant engagements and contributions of the Associate Members in shaping and advancing the OSC mission. The CAM’s proactive support and strategic input are critical in strengthening the OSC initiatives. Through its flagship programmes, bilateral and multilateral engagements, and a series of strategic initiatives and events, the OSC has strengthened its role as a pivotal organisation promoting collective transformation and inclusive development among countries of the Global South. The conference was opened by NASAC’s President Prof. Mahouton Norbert Hounkonnou the outgoing chair of the Conference of Associate Members who presented the first annual report of the CAM which highlighted the key activities and milestones of the previous year.
