Africa is urbanising more rapidly than any other part of the world. In a new video from a meeting of the LIRA2030 Africa programme, we hear how early-career researchers are building a new research culture to interrogate the challenges of urbanisation and leverage opportunities to transform cities in Africa.
Early-career researchers supported through the Leading Integrated Research for Agenda 2030 in Africa (LIRA2030) programme and members of the LIRA 2030 Scientific Advisory Committee met in March 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
In a video filmed during the meeting, we hear how the programme is building a new culture of research that can help to address the challenges of urbanisation in African cities, and to create opportunities for sustainable development.
The LIRA 2030 Africa programme is being implemented by the International Science Council (ISC) together with its Regional Office for Africa and in partnership with NASAC, with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida)
