Title: Professor

Prof. Murray Leibbrandt is an ASSAf Council Member. He is the UCT Research Chair in Poverty and Inequality Research in SALDRU at the University of Cape Town and the Director of the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research. He is a Visiting Professor at Yale University and a Non-Resident Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER. He served on the Presidential Labour Market Commission (1995/6), on the Deputy President’s Advisory Panel on the National Minimum Wage (2016/17) and serves on South Africa’s G20 Africa Advisory Panel.
