Prof. Ahmadou Lamine NDIAYE studied Veterinary Sciences, from 1958 to 1962, at the French National Veterinary School of Lyon and obtained, in 1963, Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences at the Faculty of Medecine of Lyon, the Certificate of Advanced Agronomic Studies, with particular reference to Animal Husbandry at the National Agronomic Institute of Paris, and the Certificate of Veterinary Medicine of Tropical Countries (IEMVT).
In 1990, Professor Ahmadou Lamine NDIAYE was appointed founding Vice-Chancellor of the Second Public University of Senegal – the University of Saint-Louis. He has also been a Member of the Board of the International Association of Universities (1997-2000), the United Nations University Council (1998-2004) the Executive Board of African Universities Association from 1997 to 2005, of which he was also then President of this Association. He has also been Member of the International Follow up Committee of the world Conference on Higher Education and President of the African follow up Committee.
Prof. Ahmadou Lamine NDIAYE is currently Member of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Member of the African Academy of Sciences and now President since February 2011, Founding Member of the Academy of Sciences and Techniques of Senegal, Chairman of the Agricultural Sciences Section (1999 to 2011) and now President, NASAC Secretary General, Chair of the High Level Panel for the establishment of the Pan African University, Member of the Consultative Committee for Deontology and Ethics of the French Institute for Research and Development, Member of the Administrative board and Vice President of the “Université Senghor” (Alexandria), Member of the UNESCO High Panel on Science, Technology, Innovation for Development.Prof. Ahmadou Lamine NDIAYE was appointed, in 1999, Minister, as the Special Advisor to the President of the Republic.Prof. Ahmadou Lamine NDIAYE has published several articles and reports in scientific journals and reviews, particularly in the fields of animal feeding and higher education.
