NASAC in collaboration with Tanzania Academy of Sciences (TAAS) and the French Academy of Sciences (through COPED) is organizing an international forum on Women and Sustainable Development in Africa.
The conference will focus on the contribution by women to social and economic progress in African countries and is scheduled to take place on 8-10 March 2018 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at the Julius Nyerere Conventional Centre.
The two and a half day international forum will also serve to highlight the challenges encountered by women in their pursuits to care for the family, educate, improve access to water, energy, healthy food, combat negative effects of climate change and sustain a growing, young and under-employed population. The achievements already made in Africa on these matters will be presented with emphasis on the means required to accelerate transition to maximize success for this innovative forum.
The forum will be open to all scientists (male and female), who have made a contribution to enhancing the role of women in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa.
